Where and when we live, to us can seem a continuum, a flux-less chain of being, somehow seguing effortlessly from one stage of being to the next. Whilst comfortable with this understanding of life and time, I have in my work sought to explicate the otherness of differing epochs within a fixed physical backdrop, reconstructing and using the attic of the family home I live in. In my work I attempt to subtly illustrate, via my particular visual signposts, the similarities, but more fixedly, the different sociological changes within my house throughout the last century.
